Sciatica nerve symptoms can extend from the lumbar low back, left and right buttock, butt cheeks, bum, posterior pelvis, hips, and thighs all the way down the legs to the feet. Symptoms are your body’s way of informing you of a problem, and correcting the underlying or root cause of those symptoms is the long-term permanent solution. The root cause of your Sciatica is a result of muscular imbalances that are impacting your sciatic nerve in a negative way. Correcting muscle imbalances is the key to successful sciatic nerve pain relief treatment.
The sciatic nerve originates on both sides of the lumbar low back as five spinal nerve roots. These five nerve roots join into a single nerve known as the sciatic nerve. It then runs from the lumbar lower back past the buttocks under, above, or through the piriformis muscle, and down the entire length of each leg. It’s important to note, that the sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the human body, and serves as the final link between the brain and our lower extremities.
Sciatic nerve pain, numbness, tingling, and burning sensation symptoms are caused by the sciatic nerve or sciatic nerve roots being stretched, compressed, pinched, or irritated.
This is also commonly referred to as Sciatic nerve impingement and entrapment in the medical profession. Muscle imbalances are directly responsible for creating an unnatural environment around the sciatic nerve. This unnatural environment is the root cause of your Sciatica symptoms, and correcting muscle imbalances will provide permanent sciatic nerve pain relief.
In order to understand muscle imbalances, one must remember that muscles provide movement, and all muscles have an opposing muscle or muscle group. Remember Newton’s 3rd law from physics. For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction. Every movement in the human body requires a muscle or group of muscles, and every opposing movement requires the same. Muscle imbalances occur when a muscle becomes out of balance with its opposing muscle. When a muscle becomes stronger, weaker, shorter(tight), longer(stretched), over stressed, or over worked when compared with the opposing muscle a muscle imbalance is created.
Successful sciatic nerve pain relief self-treatment requires correcting muscle imbalances in the lumbar low back, hips, posterior pelvis, right and left buttock, butt cheeks, and legs.
Sciatica is all to common in today’s society, and is a result of muscle imbalances do to our inactive lifestyles, and many of us spending too much time in a seated position. Consider the shape and dynamics of the lower extremities when we sit verses when we stand. This is compounded by the fact that a large percentage of individuals sit and lounge extended periods of time with very poor posture. Eventually the muscles from the lumbar low back down to our feet adapt to our poor sitting and lounging posture.
As a result, over time our body is tugged out of its natural alignment, by these muscular imbalances, creating stress and inflammation around the sciatic nerve causing Sciatica symptoms of pain, numbness, tingling, burning, pins and needles, radiating, and shooting pain down the leg.
Sciatica nerve symptoms are not just limited to those with an inactive lifestyle. Sometimes those who are very active are prone to the worst sciatic nerve pain symptoms, as a result of some very severe muscular imbalances. Individuals with active lifestyles can often have a very strong muscular base. Creating the opportunity for severe muscle imbalances due to a muscle being much stronger and shorter than its opposing much weaker and longer muscle.

problem is leg and back nerve pain caused by lightning
Having serious burning in my two hips and laps when seated.
For past 9 months, I have experienced extreme pain in my right buttocks only after driving for an extended time, one hour or more. Suddenly in last few days my right thigh has felt like its on fire. It keeps me up at night.
Jennifer, mine started the same way and now I can hardly get to the bathroom. Trying to get appointments with a spine doctor asap cause the pain is horrible! In my middle butt, buttcheeks to thighs, even one hip, and weakness down to my toes.
I have a bulging disc at L5-S1. It’s been over a year, I got hurt at work, and made it worst by working on it. I’ve had three steroid shots in the back that were way to close together. I had them in about 6-7 weeks. Pain went away to a tolerable level, but I went back to work and made it ten times worse. Now I can’t stand up straight or walk longer then 30 seconds without having to hold on to something cause my back and leg are so weak. Waiting on workman comp to schedule a doctor appointment. They approved it, but got their so slow. I know I need surgery, and I can’t even stretch anymore I’m in such pain.
It started the beginning of the year. I was over at a friends house when he asked me to grab a tool out of the tool box. When I turned I did something that was enough to bring me to tears. I went to my doctor, and he told me it was my lower lumbar. He said, I also have severe arthritis in my spine! Though he gave me the dreadful three shots in my back it was great for a couple of weeks, but then it hit like a bomb. The pain is more excruciating than ever; it goes down my left leg where I am limping. If I sit to long it hurts, if I stand to long it hurts, and when I move to fast it hurts. I don’t like all the pills they give me so I endure the pain with Motrin 600. I need a better alternative. I am just so scared that if I move wrong it will disable me to where I can’t perform at my job which is a desk job. What do I do?
I have back pain, left thigh, and buttock pain which has gotten worse.
Numbness on the left buttocks running down to my toes. Both feet are affected but the left seems more stiff.
